Most patients with a healthy mouth are candidates for Snap On Dentures, but full bone structure is required to support dental implants. If jawbone density is insufficient, bone augmentation or bone grafting can be used. Your gums must also be in good condition to be a candidate.
There are many Snap On Dentures pros and cons when compared to All on 4 procedures. Firstly, Snap On Dentures are removable dental restorations, while All on 4 is a permanent, fixed treatment. However, both are implant supported systems, so both prevent bone loss and avoid the sunken jaw appearance.
Three weeks before the surgery, stop drinking alcohol, smoking, and taking anti-inflammatories and vitamin E supplements. Eat plenty of pineapple and a multivitamin tablet (even if it contains vitamin E). During the 48 hours following the surgery, avoid physical activities, don’t force your mouth to open, and do not blow your nose.
There is no need to pay the entire treatment on your first trip, but only to cover surgery costs. Then you will have four to six months to save for the balance of your treatment, which you will pay when the final dental restoration is placed.
